Meet NRV CARES new Executive Director

Juli Dellorso has been named the Executive Director of NRV CARES by the organization’s Board of
Directors. Juli officially assumed this new role on March 06, 2017. “Juli is a good fit for our exceptional
team at NRV CARES. She is a go-getter with experience in non-profit networking and development.
She brings a new dimension to our team, and I speak for the board when I say we are excited to see NRV
CARES benefit from her energy and passion for our mission.” says Deb Syndor, NRV CARES Board
Chair.
Mrs. Dellorso’s background uniquely positions her to assume this post, as NRV CARES’ seventh
Executive Director. With significant experience in non-profit development management, fundraising,
community development, and public relations, Dellorso will advance the organization’s current strategic
plan and guide NRV CARES future endeavors into community action to protect children from abuse and
strengthen families. Dellorso shared, “I am so honored and humbled to serve families and the children of
the NRV. Together with a professional, talented staff, I will strive every day to be an advocate and
champion for the most vulnerable members of our community. Through collaboration with our partners,
volunteers, and friends and neighbors, we will work to build up our children and promote happy, healthy
families in the NRV and surrounding areas. I believe deeply in the power of connection, conversation
and collaboration. Child abuse and neglect is an issue I feel very strongly about and it is our responsibility
to ourselves, our children, and families to work to prevent it.” Dellorso has a Bachelor’s in Social Change
and Community Development from Hollins University, and an Associate’s in Human Services from
Virginia Western Community College, both in Roanoke, VA. For the past decade, Dellorso has served her
community through volunteer work with The Virginia Western Community Action Network, Conflict
Resolution Center, TAP- Sabrina’s Place, and The Roanoke Rescue Mission. She is the former
Development Manager of ARCH Services (formerly Trust House and Bethany Hall in Roanoke) and
Relationship Manager at United Way of Roanoke Valley. She has worked collaboratively on various
projects with several organizations during her time in Roanoke such as Children’s Trust, The Homeless
Assistance Team, and the Continuum of Care. Dellorso was formally introduced as Executive Director to
our stakeholders, donors, volunteers, and various community members at the annual NRV CARES Gala
held on March 4th 2017 at the Inn at Virginia Tech.
Mrs. Dellorso lives in Christiansburg with her husband, children, and dachshunds.
