Parenting Young Children

Parenting Young Children Courses utilize the Systematic Training for Effective Parenting curriculum (STEP) for parents/caregivers of children ages birth through 6 years.
An 8 or 9 week course, STEP teaches:
- parents/caregivers about different parenting styles and which will be most effective in influencing our children in a positive direction
- how to discipline with both firmness and kindness
- how to communicate effectively with children (and others)
- how to gain cooperation from our children
- ways to build our children’s and our own self-esteem through the process of encouragement
- much more!
NRV CARES provides:
- on-site childcare
- dinner for the family
- complete course free of charge to the community (including to agencies)
